Plant a seed, nurture an idea, watch it grow! Loft404’s inaugural pARTy Affair…

Dear friends! A while since our last post. Things have been amazingly busy here at Loft404 ~ The Ambrosia Hub.

Last month’s highlight was our inaugural Loft404 pARTy Affair. This is a regular creative series, so keep in touch on social media & join our mailing list for updates on pARTy #2!

It was beautiful evening and we were charmed and delighted by all the warm-hearted people who attended and participated.

Everyone looked fabulous, including our lovely Co-Hosts with their colourful make-up courtesy Soraya Prado.

The weather was mild, there was magic in the air, and all of us enjoyed a spectacularly unique evening of creativity, expression and fun. Thank you to one and all for sharing all your inspiring energy.

There were countless highlights to the night, including the incredible Liny Antwi, who blew us away with her powerful improv walking spoken word/song performance, weaving throughout the maze of Loft404 to the final North Studio performance stage.

Our Guests were as impressed as us…

Jeremy Edwards kept the South Studio warm with his improv sax & harmonica playing… all night long!

(thanks for the photo Casie Stewart)

Melysa Gorlicky kept it beautiful with her live painting…

.. which our wonderful Co-Host Sarah loved so much she bought!

Julie Gladstone kept the North Studio beautiful with her live-painting,

.. as did Gabrielle Lasporte,

(Join us & Gabrielle on the 1st Monday of each month in our North Studio at 6:30pm for The Art Generator Sessions, part of Loft404’s Motley Mondays, a free shared creative workspace series each week 10am - 6pm at The Ambrosia Hub!)

The talented Devin Michael & Mike Celia kept the North Studio jamming,

.. as did our favourite DJ Sean Sax!

Thanks to all our generous food & bevie sponsors (listed below), as well as everyone who contributed BYOB to Loft404’s Community Bar… the treats were delectable!

Thanks to  Yannick Anton for all the great photos - more can be found on our website:

Special thanks to all the Guests who arrived fashionably late or who spontaneous performed but we’re caught on film, including violinist Blaise Alleyne and singer Andrea Romolo.

Join us at Loft404 this 2nd Monday of the month for the first instalment of a new regular Motley Monday Evening Showcase series hosted by These Five Minutes: Writer’s Workout!

About These Five Minutes

Formula:

1.  Inspiration “dip” (find a phrase, word, image or audio clip arbitrarily in a source of our choosing). 2. Set the timer to five minutes. 3. Write (without editing). 4. Share.

History:
We are Julia and Sasha. We started writing together in April 2010, meeting in coffee shops with various inspirational sources and doing timed writing exercises. We started off with six, or four, or twelve minutes, but we began to love the short ones because there was something magical that happened in such a snippet of time. It was fast and dirty, and we got to the heart of what we wanted to say without wasting any time. With that, “these five minutes” was born. After sharing these writes solely with one another for a year and a half, we decided it was time to share these pocket-sized stories with you. What better way to launch this project than with a challenge: using the same “dip” we each write a five minute piece per day. It’s just the way we like it. Short writes. Short reads.

I guess it’s his profound belief in something. Sounds kinda idiotic, but I believe in him. I believe in his passion.

J’adore Maurice Sendak - the REALEST of the REAL.  What glorious honesty…
